Thanks Wilencote Herefords for supporting the Hereford Prime brand recently at the Poverty Bay A+P Show.

Peter Humphreys principal of Wilencote Herefords purchased a $500 voucher from Magills to be spent on Hereford Prime beef products and presented it to the runner up in the Turihaua Angus Supreme Heifer Class. This class for is a pen of three yearling heifers shown by one exhibitor. The heifers are judged on the hoof and the hook with particular attention paid to uniformity, temperament, conformation and phenotype.

Judge Sam Hain said the winning heifers were “an eye catching line, a nice even group of three.”

The challenge was won by Tom and Linda Savage with Hereford heifers from their Kowhai Nui farm. Tom also runs Potutu Station, which has featured in the annual Hereford magazine in the past. Second place was awarded to Whare-o-Paia Station from Tologa Bay and Waihuka Station from Otoko placed third. First prize was $1000 cash, second prize was a $500 Hereford Prime voucher sponsored by Wilencote Herefords and third prize was $200 cash.
