Hereford Prime NZ offers beef farmers another marketing option. Export your beef via our partnership with Anzco Foods or opt to supply the top end of the domestic market with any of our beef processing partners.

Cattle eligible for our quality beef programme (at individual processing partners) are listed below:

Anzco Foods Ltd:

The criteria for both the domestic and export programmes comprises:-

• Grass fed, hormone free cattle.
• Steers and heifers.
• 240-320kgCW.
• Live weights approximately 460kgs to 720kgs
• P or T grade (fat coverage 3mm – 16mm)
• Pure bred Hereford or Herford first cross cattle are eligible (Hereford Friesian first cross cattle are acceptable).
• *Note: A registered Hereford sire must be used for progeny to be eligible for the export market and those cattle sent for slaughter must be tagged with a HPid tag available by phoning 06 323 4484.

Bowmonts Wholesale Meats Ltd:

• Grass fed, hormone free cattle.
• Steers and heifers.
• 240-300kgCW.
• P grade (fat coverage of 3-10mm)
• Pure bred Hereford or Herford British breed first cross cattle are eligible.

Cabernet Foods Ltd:

• Grass fed, hormone free cattle.
• Steers and heifers.
• 240-320kgCW.
• P grade (fat coverage of 3-10mm)
• Pure bred Hereford or Herford British breed first cross cattle are eligible.

Magills Artisan Butchery:

• Grass fed, hormone free cattle.
• Steers and heifers.
• 240-300kgCW.
• P grade (fat coverage of 3-10mm)
• Pure bred Hereford or Herford British breed first cross cattle are eligible – including Hereford Friesian first cross cattle.

Hereford Prime Carcases are individually chiller assessed to ensure they meet the strict specifications laid down by Hereford Prime NZ Ltd.

These specifications are in place to ensure the highest quality eating experience. Hereford Prime Beef prides itself on producing consistency and unrivalled quality every time.

The Assessment is carried out by trained personnel, using a pH meter, colour chips and eye assessment for marbling and rib eye size.

Hereford Prime Suppliers are provided with feedback sheets detailing the performance of their cattle.
